Messianic Israelites Born Anew

TARGETED AND CALLED TO GOD’S QAHAL

A qahal was translated to English as assembly, company, congregation, multitude. The word qahal occurs 123 times in 116 verses.

In Beresheet 28, God said to Avraham, after his name change,

And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude (H6951) of people;

That multitude of “people” (H6951) refer to

1. Jews who do not listen to God.

2. Jews who listen to God.

The former group was dispersed in 586 BC in the Babylonian age, at the hands of Nebuchadrezzar at the fall of Jerusalem. The Temple was broken at the end of a three year siege of Babylon. The group was given a second chance to repopulate Judea in the Roman Empire. God sent His Son Y’shua to call the lost sheep of Israel. He convinced by the Spirit a people of the Remnant to follow Him. We know them as Peter, John, James, Stephen, Barnabas, Jude, Lydia, Ananias (Acts 9), Paul and the rest. This was the sign of Jonah. Those who rejected Y’shua were overthrown again in 40 years from 30 AD. This time the henchman was Titus in 70 AD.

Today we live in the Temple that Y’shua rebuilt in three days. It is His spiritual Temple that eyes cannot see. It is not a building.

The latter group is the messianic believers in the 21st century in the Aliyah that is prophesied in the Prophets of the Old Testament books.

We today, the messianic Israelites, are the children of those who wandered on Sinai, being the original targeted audience in the knowledge of the Laws of God apart from the Mosaic Covenant. Joshua and Caleb were the first generation of the slaves to Egypt set free by the might of God’s hand. Their next generation was the “immigrants” that were born free from slavery.

Now not all Jews are messianic Jews. When a genetic Jew turns to Christ as the messiah in all of the prophecies spoken of in the Old Testament, he/she becomes a messianic Jew.

Nakdimon was a genetic Jew. Y’shua told him to get born again. He asked, “How?”

Rhetorically he protested, not like he could crawl back into his mother’s womb and get born all over again. Y’shua says, “No, I am not talking about a physical birth. Seek the Spirit of God. He will help you in your dead soul getting the missing birth that you do not have nor experienced. (Paraphrased in English.)

The Greek word ἄνωθεν means a dynamic semantic of “again” and “from above”.

Y’shua answered him, “Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born 👉ἄνωθεν, he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”

The connotation of being born from above takes out many false interpretation of human experiences that do not involve God. When people have an amazing experience they say they are “born again”. But it does not involve God. It is just figure of speech. But it carries no eternal significance. Y’shua was talking about eternal life. A true experience must conform to the John 3: 3 and 5 reference.

Y’shua again says, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

In the following verse, we shall find the proper interpretation from our Lord for the “water” reference. A truth is to be Scripture that is interpreted by Scripture, not by man’s own ideas or by speculation.

He said, “6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

Y’shua testified that the “water” is speaking to the birth canal birth of a human being. In 1 John 5 the “three witnesses” of a saved human being say,

7 For there are three who testify: 8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.

For a Jew, his DNA report testifies to his Jacob’s brood genealogy. But the Spirit shall witness to his 👉ἄνωθεν genealogy in the born anew requirement to be entered in the Kingdom of God.

The same goes for a Gentile believer. His passage through his mother’s birth canal is the witness of the amniotic water birth. The water is the fluid surrounding a fetus within the amnion. Every human has this witness. We got off to a good start! Angels do not have this witness.

We are the twelve tribes of Israel. A gentile is not from the 12 tribes of Israel by default. Now, genealogy is not the gateway to salvation. But the Israelite genealogy is a gateway to a richer relationship due to history in the Torah, and a responsibility that God gave which never went away. The One who wrote that will that carries an inheritance must die so that the will become legally effective. Christ died so that an inheritance can be distributed. Our God is that Christ. We are His children. We become co-heirs with Christ for receiving Him for who He says He is.
