The Spiritually Discerned

Do not let battle fatigue get the better of you. Read 1 Corinthians 2 again.

15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

The mind of Christ is given by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, to the one who receives Christ.

Everyday, some of us are trying to maintain a balance between going through the cares of life and the inner man’s health, that is the soul. The battle may have to do with your relationship with the members of your household. A man in my mens group goes to the grocery store to take a break from his live-in mother-in-law. Considering the drama at home, my friend is really on his best behavior by not engaging in wars of words inside the home. The battle may be office politics for 8 hours a day five days a week. The battle may be your children getting fluid curiosity by checking out the same sex attraction experimentation. The battle may be your time spent on social media, navigating the comments of heretics sent to deliberate sabotage the journey taken by many people seeking the truth, seeking God, seeking healing in the Word. You feel indignant at their lies. You contend for the faith for God. However, we will also keep in mind we do not hold the standard. We rest from all that. We inquire the mind of Christ all again.

A Call To Gentleness With Disbelievers

1 Corinthians 2:14

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

So the disbeliever who argues with you is behaving in foolishness out of ignorance. They are simply just not spiritually discerned.

Do we chide them for their foolishness? It does not seem an effective way much as you beat a child who scalded his hands. He is crying for attention. What would you do? Bind the wound. Call 911. (Pray.)

Do we mock a disbeliever for not understanding the mystery of God as revealed in the Bible? It does not seem an effective way much as a college grad criticizes a fourth grader about his algebra skills. In real life, no college grad does that.

Do we tell the disbeliever that he shall be “destroyed”? (I doubt we have a crystal ball.) It does not seem an effective way much as a truck driver passing a driver with the L plate flips the bird on him. That is childish behavior. The person driver with an L plate, with an instructor in the passenger side is letting us know, as the Holy Spirit tells the saved believer, that the person is pre-exam. He is not ready. He is not licensed fully.

I think we can be gentle while being assertive when conversing with disbelievers and seekers (as the Learner driver student) to apply suitable gentleness to lead them to the truth without berating them in order to elevate our status.

Now imagine if Y’shua, who knows like literally everything did that to the multitude as He sat on the mountain.

Now imagine if the Holy Spirit hears our thoughts and SMS us on the phone with a message: SMH.

Mishpocha, you know that will not happen.

Therefore, be holy (complete) even as He is complete.
