In 2 Tasloniqim 2 Paul basically divided two groups of people – those that do not love the truth, end up being deceived, and those who are saved.
The ones saved begin with being called by God to come to His Son. Not upon the volunteers. The volunteers refer to those who are not called by God and they come anyway. There is not a promise in the Bible for the volunteers, as you may notice.

2 Tasloniqim 2|14
To this He called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The glory of our Lord Jesus Christ in context means
I The glory of life upon the end of the body. The soul lives and will stand to receive the new body.
II The crown of glory at the appearing of the Kinsman (not to be confused with the Second Coming). “When the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory” 1 Peter 5.
III The glory of beholding the face of God as a soul in heaven.
IV The glory to enjoy and to enter into the joy of being a leader for God in His kingdom. Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
